Mesenchymal stem cell (MSC)-based therapies are emerging as promising approach to treat chronic wounds, although uncontrolled/sub-optimal delivery represents a major threat their wide-spread clinical adoption. Here we report comprehensive pre-clinical evaluation program on the mechanism of action, efficacy and safety an easy-to-use patch that concentrates MSC extracted from human fat (ASCs) in clinical-grade sponge made porcine crosslinked-gelatin. ASC were derived abdominal/skin four ischemic patients. Microarray data revealed grown within upregulate transcription genes important for wound healing, including VEGF, CXCL12 FGF7.
